Kai Kim - Founder

Born in Hawaii and raised in a mixture of love and chaos, Kai Kim turned a childhood of survival, family drama, and early brushes with life and death into a fearless cinematic vision. From creature effects with Stan Winston to directing The Young and the Restless and his audacious short The Interview, Kai crafts stories of unsung heroes, moral complexity, and raw courage. His work is a testament to resilience, redemption, and the relentless pursuit of daring storytelling.

Harry Heng - Producer

Harry Heng joined White Crane Pictures in 2023 as a producer for the company’s debut film, The Interview, starring Leonard Robinson.

Prior to joining White Crane Pictures, Harry built a multifaceted career directing award-winning films and working extensively as a camera technician. As a member of the ICG (International Cinematographers Guild), he brings a strong visual sensibility and technical expertise from his work on major productions including Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, James Gray’s Ad Astra, Apple TV’s Government Cheese, and ABC’s The Rookie.

The Interview

Synopsis

Tyson Babineaux is desperate for redemption. Branded by a violent past, every job rejection pushes him closer to losing the family he’s fighting for. When a secretive private security firm offers him an interview, it feels like the break he’s been waiting for—until the doors lock and the rules change. The only way to get the job is to eliminate the competition… literally. Trapped in a deadly game where survival is the only qualification, Tyson must decide how much of his soul he’s willing to sacrifice for a second chance at life

“The Interview” was born from the creative minds of co-writers Leonard Robinson and Kai Kim. Both artists were searching to create a short story that used fast action to deliver an emotional thread that left the audience with something to think about. With a script and a pitch deck Kai set out to find artists and craftspeople who were just as passionate and excited to make an bloody action noir tale of redemption and self discovery. Through countless meetings and conversations Kai and producer Harry Heng found the people they were searching for to bring this dark and curious world to life. We are proud and honored to present this dark adventure born from an amazing cast and crew for you to enjoy.
